Who: Organic Valley Farmers, Tucker and Rebecca Gretebeck of Monroe County, Wisconsin.

Becky and Tucker Gretebeck are one of the 2,000 family farms that make up Organic Valley. They are located in a scenic area of southwest Wisconsin, just outside of Cashton, Wisconsin.

The Gretebeck’s farm was certified organic in 2006. A few years later, the Gretebecks took it a step further and decided to add 100% grass-fed to their farm management style. So the milk from 50 mostly Red Holstein and crossbred cows is destined exclusively for Organic Valley’s Grassmilk label.

Studies show that milk from 100% grass-fed cows has appreciably higher levels of beneficial omega-3 fatty acids and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), too. Apparently it’s true that what’s good for cows is good for people. With a degree in food science, Becky understands this all too well.

Becky is not only an Organic Valley farmer, but she works for the cooperative as a Production Development Manager. Her unique skills as a farmer and employee bring a diverse and valued perspective to her work. Becky has a deep knowledge of both Organic Valley products and real life experience in Organic Valley’s farming practices.
